Standing on the famous site of Amsterdam’s former
Sweelinck Conservatory of Music, the Conservatorium Hotel in Amsterdam opened
at the end of 2011. This magnificent Neo-Gothic building was originally
built at the end of the 19th Century and in its new incarnation, it has been
transformed into a contemporary luxury five-star hotel.
The Conservatorium occupies eight floors and has 129
rooms and suites ranging in size from 25 m2 to
a spacious 170 m2. The suites offer a good choice of sizes and styles in
addition to the room categories, which range from Junior to Penthouse. All
rooms and suites include double-glazed windows and are equipped with
state-of-the-art in-room technology and feature luxury linen and amenities.
Essential to the
Conservatorium vision of elegance, good living and cultural distinction has
been the creation of restaurants and bars whose appeal extends from guests of
the hotel to Amsterdam society itself and the city’s international visitors. All
dining at the Conservatorium is under the direction of the celebrated
Dutch-chef, Schilo van Coevorden. His style of food has continuously evolved
through the years, adapting and adopting traditions from all over the world
while retaining the virtues of simplicity and focus on locality and
seasonality.
The
Conservatorium offers a spa experience and wellbeing concept completely new to
Amsterdam. For comprehensive restoration and rejuvenation the Akasha Holistic
Wellbeing Centre is divided into different areas which align with the four
elements. One of the finest spas in Amsterdam, Akasha spa offers a
variety of classical and holistic massages and beauty treatments. Featuring
Life Fitness equipment, Kinesis and virtual spinning, the Akasha gym provides
one of the most exclusive fitness facilities in Amsterdam, offering
personalised training programmes which combine a variety of disciplines
overseen by experienced instructors.
The hotel’s six
meeting and events rooms offer excellent personalized service, leading-edge
technology and exquisite design to satisfy every requirement, for every
occasion. The Symphony Room is the largest and
can accommodate 120 guests theatre style and 90 guests for dinner. The rooms
all have natural daylight and are equipped with state-of-the-art high
definition technology, including beamers and/or LCD televisions. Fully
inclusive remote control systems provide for every need and comfort.
